Anyone use these? I seem to spend a lot of time on my bike hanging off the edge of my bars in the position these allow for but get sore palms.
Any reasons not to try?
I've got a set somewhere, they feel pretty weird with wide bars mind (and I reckon most of the benefit) but for long days they do give you some extra positions to work with, and they're comfier than most I've used. Quite weighty mind.
I'd like to experiment with a pair of barends inbound of the controls, like teeny tri bars. But I've not found a bar end that has a fully split clamp, they all seem to need to go on over the end of the bars which is inconvenient
I've seen bar ends as you describe, Northwind, sure it was on a fat bike.. no idea of make/model though.
I use some cane creek bar ends you describe on an Easton straight bar and use them a fair bit when cruising along.
SJSC have a good selection of bar ends including split clamp models for mounting inboard. I tried it but was never overly happy with the position.
I'm using some On One Mary bars on another bike at present and have taped the centre sections and that's ok for a change of position.
Ooh, cheers slparsons, will check that out.
I've used the Cane Creek Ergos for years, really like them especially for longer rides.
The only downside (apart from aesthetics) is that, like any bar-ends, they can hook up on nearby foliage, fences etc and bring you down. But that's mainly down to user error.
love mine but they are weighty,
Thanks for the replies, the weight is really putting me off these things. I think I might have a look at the Ritchy standard ones as long as they're ok with carbon bars.

I got a set of Cinelli trekking bars (split clamps )when On One had them going cheap.
They work well on long days and double up as a roll hanger for bike packing.[img]

Depending on bar dia,you may need to machine out the clamps
