I'm really really keen on upgrading my DHX 5.0 with Ti Spring on my 1st Generation Slopestyle and been thinking about going for a CCDB.

However, having read countless mags (Dirt) and various reviews online, it seems the jury is out as to whether it works as well as it should on a VPP type linkage.

I'm not really one for hype but its hard not to pay attention to this shock when so mnay people rave about how good it is and its ability to transform a bike. I wonder though - can a Push tune or Mojo tune get my DHX working similarly to a CCDB?

Has anyone out there got experience with a CCDB on a Slopestyle, M3, Socom or similar bikes?

Any info would be much appreciated......

Not used one on a VPP but have on a DW (5-Spot) and thought it was awesome. It's worth dropping Malcolm at Cane Creek an email - he's awesome at coming back with advice. I recently spent 15 mins on the phone to him talking about a possible set up on a Mojo HD, so he's very happy to offer bike-specific set-up advice.

Had one on my socom a few years ago

Totally transformed the bike, was in a different league performance wise compared to the DHX5, shock was tuned from new for the frame and my weight and only needed a few small tweaks from the recommended stock settings to get it perfect. After having this i tried to run one in my Sunday after loving it in the Socom but it didnt really gel as well on the DW frame.

Speak to Box at bad ass bikes. He let my mate use one for the day and promptly ordered one on his return. He's got it fitted to a Tracer and loves it.

He might be able to sort out a demo for you and you can take it out to the mendips to test it out. Box knows his stuff and how to set those shocks up for you.

I just got my dhx back from tf and its been pushed not fitted it to the socom yet but send us a message in about a week and ask me what the difference is.

I feel the backend handles itself well with a dhx just it was time for a service so i did the push tune also.

I use a Bos Stoy on mine. It's brilliant and very easy to set up. The spring is from DSP in the states. BOS alter the internals of the shock specifically to the type of linkage. Maybe that is why is works so well as the set up is for VPP from the start.
