I'm due a new phone and I'm thinking of getting a blackberry. Can you use them for gps on a ride? Plus, does this use up your internet allowance because you only get 1gb allowance. Its a long shot but does anybody know anything about it because I haven't a clue!
I've got an HTC hero and you can download an app called my tracks that is a very passable gps route tracker. Gps doesn't use internet, you can put the phone into airplane mode to conserve the battery while riding; it's essentially just acting as a gps receiver.
some blackberry's do have a GPS mine doesn't. google maps and blackberry maps can link to the gps i believe. Google maps can locate my blackberry to an extent by using the phone masts.
