[Closed] Can you use a 9 speed front mech on 10 speed?????????

Hi,

Just switching the 10 speed groupset from hardtail to full sus, the front mech of the FS is conventional while the one on the hardtail is top swing. So can i just use the same 9 speed conventional one for 10 speed on the FS?

Also does it matter that the chain is 3 links shorter? do i need to find some links as i don't want to have to buy a new chain+cassette.
