Needing to get some new wheels and I'm toying with the idea of going tubeless. I do some turbo trainer sessions as well as real riding and I'm wondering if I'll have to get a UST slick for the turbo trainer or if I can use the tyre I have with a tube in.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
They can but you need a liner - bit like a strip of inner tube with a fittted valver, a compatible tyre (can be used as a UST) and some sealant! Like this:

I use tubes on my Crosslands (UST) with normal tyres and have no problems...
Yes normal tyres with tubes work fine on UST rims
Oops - didn't read that title did I ๐
Thanks all.
better still, keep your old wheel and tyre for the turbo, much less faf to change the wheel when you need to do a turbo session, turbo is a hard enough mental challenge without thinking about having to change tyres too!
Panaracer PR tyres are UST compatible with UST rims. You'll need to use some wheel milk as the tyre is porous, but the TrailRaker PR version is cheaper and 200g lighter than the UST version!
