I've now got a spare rockshox recon fork with a tapered steerer surplus to requirements. My wife has a rarely used one of these:

i'm guessing it has a straight steerer but the frame has some flair at the bottom of the headtube. I'm wondering if i can shoehorn my spare fork onto it and if so how do i work out what headset bits i need?

She doesnt use it enough to warrant buying a nicer mtb but would appreciate a "proper" fork that works on the occasions she does potle offroad.

thanks in advance!

Looks like its got a 44ID head tube from the pic (my mrs had a similar carrera of the same vintage) so you should be good provided you get the right headset.

That should do the job, 44 internal diameter to fit tapered steerer fork ๐Ÿ™‚
