where the drop down menu says Mech:3spd shifter im assuming that's the left hand shifter for the front chain rings and the 9spd one is for the rear?

That's right Chris. If you click on them it brings up 'front' and 'rear' in description. Front one will work with a SRAM or Shimano mech. Rear is for SRAM only

its the first time ive needed to buy a new shifter in about 4 years so i think its done well and that's why i needed to know cause knowing me it will arrive and it will be wrong lol nothing wrong with asking as they say 🙂

yeh i saw that, im thinking may as well buy a pair as the front one is a bit weird anyway cause i get into 8th gear and it dosent click into 9 it just feels soft, maby its cheaper in a way to get pair :/
