me and a mate are looking at a last minute trip to l/g for the end of august, can anyone recommend a decent chalet/hotel/mtb holiday company.
and when do the lifts close.
cheers
Ian
The whole range of lifts should be open until 30th August. The les gets/morzine (pleney side only) lifts will be open for a couple of weeks after this.
I'm currently out in Morzine with the guys below and can thoroughly reccomend them. Food is great, nothing is too much trouble. Jenny handles all the bookings and is very helpful.

Morzine is a slightly better place to be IMHO as it reduces the risks of getting stuck if lifts close in bad weather (as if you make any of the ridges above lindarets you can just ride out the bottom to Montriond and then spin along the river for a couple of km back into town) and gives you more time to ride when you head over to switzerland etc as you don't need to be back in time to make the pleney lift to get home.
we've just come back from a week with Jim and Cat at puremountain. Easily the best run chalet/food I've ever come across in the Alps.
If you drop them a line, say "hi" from Steve, Rob, Chris, Rosie, Clare and Karen!
cheers for that boys
i,ll contact them
what condition were the trails in
Ian
I came back on the first weekend in August but when I left they were 95% backed dry with occasional puddles but we didn't really see any boggy mud. Some woody bits on the Mozine DH course were a little squelchy but overall, bloody fansatic!
