my fizik? tundra (old style/manganese rails) saddle that came with my x2 gets most uncomfortable after any period of time sat on it (it is like sitting on a breeze block!).i have signed up to do a team 12 hour erlstoke bike event in may, would really like to change it for something much more arse friendly! could stretch to £80 at a push, but cheaper would be great (oh and to be able to get one in white as well if possible 😉 thanking you in advance 😀

Different backsides like different saddles
I prefer WTB Rocket Vs, others like SDG bel-air, charge spoon etc.

you may want to look at a Specialized as the dealer measure you up to see what size you need

saddles are pretty personal but I find WTB ones suit me - they're quite 'hammocky' when you first sit on them but that passes.

Coudl you borrow saddles off mates and see which one suits you?

Just tried a Charge Spoon for the first time.... and wished I'd tried it years ago. As above though, it's a very personal thing.

agree with you all that it is a personal thing.i have tries spesh saddles in the past (didn't really get on with them to be honest) am thinking about both the charge spoon and wtb saddles though.it's a shame that shops cannot let you try before you buy.

Bonrtager do one of their body geometry saddles in white for £50 , they come in different widths and you can return them if your arse doesn't get on with them.

got my arse measured at Evans a few years back and bought a BG Spesh saddle which was right for my arse width.

while it's not exactly pretty or light, it is comfy

have narrowed it down to either a charge spoon or knife saddle (with titanium rails,my arse is worth it 😉 have read quite a lot of good reviews from people about them.am leaning towards the knife (more give in the chassis by all accounts)

Why don't you just buy the Cro-Mo version until you know it suits?

+1 for SDG Bel air. I now have the same saddle on all 5 bikes! Saddles are the most personal of components, but I have recommended this one many times and never have a bad response. Well within your budget, even for the ti railed one - bit more springy than the cromo one.

Hope that helps!

Chomp - did you really get your arse measured in Evans? 😯

Its amazing what difference a saddle makes. Its Rocket V's for me. I once deviated and bought a SDg Bel Air and hated it. Yet there are plenty of people who love 'em. Hey ho
