Hi all, basically as above, i'm just wondering whether a road cassette can be used with a mtb rear mech or do i have to change it for a road mech and shifter?

You can use an mtb mech. A road mech can give VERY slightly snappier shifting with a road cassette but it's not really worth worrying about.
