I'm going to Glentress at the end of the month and can only find those poncy expensive caravan sites, can anyone recommend me a good campsite in the area?

It's Scotland. Camp wherever you please!

(within reason)

We camped at the top carpark. Meet the Ranger, he was fine with it.

www.rosettacaravanpark.co.uk

We stopped here at spring bank , seemed like a reasonable place. There's an onsite bar if you're too tired for the 10 minute walk into town (shedloads of places to eat and drink).

Only a short drive to the trails at Glentress and Innerleithen.

+1 for Rosetta. Good wee place, I'll probably be there later this month.

Rosetta is good, we stayed a month ago and were only charged for one pitch
(2 small tents)!

You can camp in a tent near the pods and use the very nice facilities at the pods at Glentress, just phone up and ask for details.

This site is great

Right on the doorstep of Innerleithen and a few good pubs in the town.

Wouldnt recommend Rosetta these days, the guy in charge was a right miserable, unreasonable **** last time I stayed there!

Crap stay at Rosetta. Full of folk tanked up on strong lager, having noisy marital disputes at 2am!
Whole place had a very unfriendly feel.
Buzzards nest next time I think!
