Need new groupset for a cyclocross build (Bright orange Santa Cruz Stigmata). Always fancied a bit of campag and Planet-x are doing Athena for £500. But is it like dressing up pitbull in a tutu?

if you were talking about record then i maybe it would be overkill, but athena?

What would concern me more, and it probably wouldn't be a real issue, is 11 sprockets on the back.

11speed could be the deal breaker.
Are they more likely to get clogged up with mud and
isn't £150 for the chaintool?

If you want the Campag one; Park Tool CT-4.2 & CT-11 combo should cover the bases for £95 (CT-11 needed to peen the rivet)

KMC were meant to be launching an 11sp chain, but no sign of it (or any other aftermarket 11sp chain) yet.

The SC isn't a budget frame exactly, I'd put Athena on a frame half that price (if I used campag)
11 speed will be fine, the will it survive in the mud question has been asked since the day six speed arrived.
Just race fast 8)
