looking for a big all day/multiday pack (already have a Mule)and these are a good deal at the moment - a bit bigger than the HAWG and a touch cheaper. There aren't many reviews around - any experiences ?

Thanks

I brought one a while ago with the intention of using it to bivi - wasn't quite big enough as I have a big army surplus bivi bag. It does have a waterproof main compartment which is quite handy.

Either way, I never actually used it (plastic thing is still on bladder end and tags are still on it) as I brought a bigger bag. If you want it drop me a mail at ewan at ewanpanter dot co dot uk - 55 quid...

Iain

I'm pretty sure Dave? Shearer has got one - you could get his contact details from Sanny.

Cheers

When looking for something very similar (I have an old Mule and wanted something bigger for full days etc same as you) I eventually for a North Face Blacktail rather than the HAWG. They were similar size but cheaper and includes a rain cover. To be honest though I wish I'd got the HAWG if only for the fact that you can bung a Camlebak in the washing machine when it's filthy whereas the Blacktail specifically says you can't.

It's a blue one I think. It's been sitting in a cupboard for the last 3 months, so that's from memory, but i'm fairly certain...

I found some reviews:

I got one in the USA before they were launched over here and I'm really happy with it. It feels less obtrusive on my back than some of the smaller Camelbaks which must be because of the back system - which works really well. With everything properly packed away it isn't that big a pack volume-wise. I like it for taking enough stuff to keep a group rolling for a couple of hours.
