Convert any camelbak® reservoir into an intelligent hydration system with the camelbak™ flow meter™.

Features:
• Water gauge measures how much water you drink, and how much is left in your reservoir
• Programmable to monitor personal hydration goals

I do... I got one when it arrived in the shop on Friday.
Actually its a bloody clever bit of kit. Yes its unnecessary, but means you know whats left in some of the larger ones where you dont have easy access to the bladder.
Gives you a time to empty, very useful for races with drink stops. Dont have to get off and unpack bag to work out if you need to refill.
Also independantly resetable so you can monitor whole day usage, time since last fill up etc...

I assumed it would be a little bit pants and was very dubious about the whole thing. But actually its kinda interesting to use.
Even works out your hydration goals for you (if you dont already do about 1l/hour!)

Apparently, it's the single most common request by Camelbak users "How much water is left in my Camelbak?"

I live the way he tries to make it sound simple

1) You can normally guess how much and fill up every few hours.
2) 'personal hydration goals' - LOL

😀

Each to their own I guess - strikes me as a pointless gadget and begs the question 'whatever next'

Conkers - I didn't think anyone would actually have hydration goals, maybe guidelines.

Although I have (de)hydration goals when it comes to beers wines and spirits

Ahhh when we get some more in I will be selling you one!
I'll explain why I didnt try and sell you one another time.

As for the catheter/condom/beers/testing potential female sucking ability....... we've come up with most of them in the shop already.

Hydration goal is just a guideline to let you know where you are against 0.7L/hour (for my body weight) I tend to know when im dehydrated but its quite useful for the really long rides.

Too much emphasis on hydration in MTB it seems. From looking at Roady / running forums and mags MTBers seem to drink far more than we actually need. I think its the convenience of just sucking on a nearby nipple that makes us drink so much.

During a 2 hour run I'll get through 500ml of water / nuun, but probably 1 ltr on the MTB with Camelbak, then maybe 500ml on a road bike.
