Afternoon ladies or blokes for that matter,

Spinning in Gyms  what shoes do you wear as the missus would like some spinning specific shoes.  Are they SPD, SPD-SL or some other - therein, what type of shoe works best?

other requirements - duck like feet (please don;t ever show this)

cheers

Most gyms I have been in have had either toe clips and straps, or a combo with MTB type SPD. Never seen SPD-SL.

You could do with finding out what their gym setup is. I have only used regular trainers, but non running shoes as the big heel counter often catches on bits of bike. I am not teh wimminz.

Most of the spin bikes I’ve used have double-sided pedals - SPD on one side, toe clips and straps on the other. Shimano IC100 is an indoor bike shoe that takes 2 and 3 hole cleats.

So are/were TKMaxx, they also had the road and gravel shoes.

TBH other than being flimsier/lighter there's not much difference. You'd probably actually be better with a set of light-ish MTB shoes (easier to walk from the changing rooms), or a set of Tri shoes (easier to slip on and off when you get to the bike).

The cleats are always shimano SPD (i.e. mtb cleats).
