Bit of a long shot but here goes.
I took the Blackbox damper out of my shagged Reba’s last night and put them in my wifes Reba’s that had a standard MoCo damper with Poplock.
However I’m a little confused on oil levels for the damper. I’m 99.9% sure they’re both 2010 forks, and the 2010 manual says 123ml of 5wt oil for the Team fork which is what the Blackbox came from, this is what I’ve added. But the bounce on the floor test seems to suggest that the lockout isn’t working as it did previously.
The 2011 manual says that for RLT Ti forks, which I thought used the same Blackbox damper need 133ml of 5wt and was wondering if this is what might be causing the issue. Though it’s very possible I’m completely wrong!
Any help appreciated!
Measure how far inside the leg upper the damper would reach, then by eye see how high up the oil level comes with 123ml of oil. If the oil level doesn't reach the bottom of the damper, add the other 10ml and see what happens. Not an exact science, but you never know!
That's not a bad shout, I'll maybe give that a whirl tonight!
