[Closed] Calling Rad Dudes - How big a ramp?

We had a ramp for our lake jump last year and we can use it again this year.

We have also been offered a 3 metre long, 2 metre high motorcross ramp for the weekend.

Is this likely to be too big given we don't have a steep run in for the ramp?

Now this I can't wait to see! Last year was entertaining to watch but the mx ramp should be fun! ๐Ÿ˜†

Yeah but Richard you were scared last year when I let the 12 year old do it.

This year we have insurance and everything...

it's how deep the lake isn't that is just as important imho. The higher you go the deeper you'll splash down.

How good is your event insurance ? Do the insurers know about said ramp / lake jumping ? ๐Ÿ™‚

What type of bike? BMX or MTB?

2m high would mean hitting it at about 10mph just to get to the lip, so do-able but probably quite scary, and quite a braking effect (imagine slowing down from a normal trail riding pace to zero in 2m and concentrating on the jum simoultanoeusly).

MTB probably. Might just stick with last years ramp. I wasn't sure if I should 'big it up' as we have MBUK 'wreking crew' coming down this year apparently.

How about something inbetween. That one looks tiny... Or could do both?

Last years was big enough for a bikini clad young lady to perform a near perfect back flip.

It is in the fixers as we speak. Some other dudes just offered me their ramp and I wondered if synchronised lake jumping was a good idea?
