Can someone recommend me a decent winter tyre for the hills to go on the SS InBred?

Cheers.

I use maxxis minion front and high roller rear, both 2.35", up there all year round on my full sus and PA. My more XC hardtail has either panaracer fire xc pro (1.8") or schwalbe skinny jimmy (2.1"), currently got the schwalbes on and they probably stay on so I can save the fire xc for any events that I want to do.

Tyres aren't location specific you know! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Bontrager Mud X in 2" flavour is my mud tyre of choice. They seemed to do an alright job up the Malverns the couple of times I rode there last winter too.

That depends on where your riding. Mud will need mud tyres, the actual Malvern Hills are less muddy, more rocky - go for general tyres.

Pressure is more important than you think.

I run 2.35 Kenda Nevagals on the HT and they are at their best up on the Hills - that kind of hard packed surface/rocky stuff seems to be where they excel. Even on the muddier stuff lower down they cope fine. There are not that many root-infested trails on the hills nearest me though.

But they do live up to their 'Kenda surprise' reputation on that short Malvern grass when it's wet. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Generally use either Nevagals or Ralphs on the Hiils which cope with the conditions pretty well. Only problems on down on the commons when it's boggy.
