As above but with the spacer below the stem.

Hi thepodge.iv,e just bought an x1 frame so am doing the build.
didn,t come with the conical spacer just the headset.
i,m just trying to find out the height as my steerer is too short.
going to if i can extend it?????
what,s the standard stem length and rise.
i don,t know if the headset has been changed on it.
it came with a cane creek that just takes a standard spacer set up not the cone jobbie..

Standard headset is a Cane Creek one, not sure what type it is.

I removed the conical thing altogether, front end was just too high, couldnt keep it down on steep climbs. Much better now.

Not sure why they put it there in the first place, as if the front end isn't already high enough, having as it does a >160mm long headtube.

I use a flatter than standard headset topcap and FSA stem (35mm stack) and no spacers* to get the bars down as much as I can on my XL trance - would help with short HT issues too about the minimum steerer length on a trance is headtube length + 40mm.

*actually I have a slim one atop the stem, to be sure the stem is clamping entirely on steerer.

There's nothing under my stem at all. Straight onto the headset top cap. It's a hope 90mm 10degree one. Fork is a RS Revelation usually running at 130mm. Frame is an L and I'm 6'2"

Feels right to me.
