S****horpe! Would you believe it?! I went to college there.

I live in Newcastle now, where you'd be very welcome. Much better riding round here. Happy to lend you my 19" rigid steel plus bike: you'd feel much more at home on that while I ride my full-sus talent substitute right? (Seriously though, we'd sort you out with whatever - email in profile)

Edit: your people need to be speaking to these guys: http://www.pedallingsquarescafe.com/ (don't worry, they're not all roadies)

Keswick, or Cockermouth as a destination?. that would easily sell out, and plenty of riding to be had.

Tried a couple of shops in Newcastle, no response. Would like to go there, but I need a reason that pays me something. I'm told the Cycle Hub would be a good spot for us, but they don't answer their mail.

Pedalling Squares are Newcastle, which is what prompted me to post.

Sorry to hear Newcastle is slacking.

Couple of other places that might be worth a try, but both charities, so may be reluctant to pay:

And a shop:

Likewise if you're in Newcastle I will come along ... if I am in there at the time that is. If you'd like bike friendly accommodations out towards the better riding let me know too, I am sure I can sort you out.

nice one ๐Ÿ˜€

repack rider if you visit the uk again avebury is much better than stonehenge imho. for one it is free to visit and you can get right up to the stones.

*nothing against stonehenge i must add but they do milk people for money there.

there is also the ridgeway that is a stone age road that goes for 85 miles that has some nice offroad cycling that is right by avebury and you can also ride on the marlbrough downs which have some nice trails also. i would recommend a sunny day though as the ground is chalk so very gloopy when wet.
