Considering some sort of Gravel Bike with a motor thing for a mix of longer distance commuting and getting some more fun out of the boring trails that run out of my workshop door. Read some reviews of the Cairn BRAVe 1.0, sounded like a pretty good option for what I have in mind, but it's unavailable for at least a year!
Are there any similar alternatives I should look at? I asked Cairn what the issue was and they said they can't get parts, is this widespread at the moment?
Ta.
I expect small manufacturers won't have the same ordering clout as a big one so drop down the priority list for suppliers.
The Marin Sausalito looks to be fairly similar to the BRAVe and Evans have the Cube Reaction on offer at the mo with 0%.
I was looking for a mate the other day and couldn't come up with anything full fat assist like the Brave. When it came to drop bar ebikes, I ended up suggesting the Specialized Turbo Creo EVO (mostly because I thought he might like the local shop support), or the Cairn Adventure 1.0. Both have a bit less assist than the Brave, and are less rough-off-road capable, though the newer Rambler edition of the Adventure is aimed at rougher stuff than the early one I tested. There's a delivery of the Cairn Adventures due at the end of April, so it wouldn't be too long to wait.
