Potentially heading west to give the OH her first trip to Wales and probably heading to Cwmcarn - just wondering how Cafall was running, whether it had dried out? I know Twrch runs well whatever the weather's been like but not been since the new trail has ben open.

Cheers!

I was there on sat. 1st time have ridden that trail, is a tough climb but a great fun trail. There was a few puddles & mud around but it was raining whilst we were there. An awesome trail & did enjoy it. I prefer it to the Twrch trail

Awesome, cheers. How does the climbing compare to Twrch?

Longer, higher, slightly les technical, but harder partly due to the constant changes in gradient. If you're intending to do both then do Cafall first, Twrch second, as I think it would be harder the other way around.

Cafell climb is massively less technical, the nightmarish huge stones and roots that take sheer concentration and guts to get over from the twrch are gone, its not a normal singletrack climb just fairly steep in places. I'd do twrch first and cafell second as I found cafell climb a lot easier

There you are, either do Twrch first or do Cafall first - we've done all your thinking for you. Let us know if we can be any more help.
