A bunch of us are going to Cadair Idris soon riding and my wife wants to come but d.t. ill health can't ride. Is there anything around CI which would keep her occupied? ๐Ÿ™‚

Normally I don't go in for the above as I just go to ride in the wet'n'wild but this time also got other considerations ๐Ÿ™‚

You could drop her off in Barmouth?

Not amazingly close but not that far either.

That's what I'd do with my Wife.

...or drop her off in Dolgellau, plenty of cakes, beer, views there. It is the wrong side of Cadair for the biking but it's not that far away.

Centre for Alternative Technology is a good place to spend a day about 6 or 7 miles? from the Idris. Good food + plenty to do.

Well, If I don't get my full sus fixed, I might be spending the day with her at the CAT - sounds like fun actually ๐Ÿ™‚

How rude!

I'm sure I probably could do it on a HT - be lighter to carry up anyway ๐Ÿ™‚ . Having walked the route though, I've no doubt it'll be a lot more fun with dual boing!

Did it on an Inbred 456, apart from the last bit it's pretty much ideal hardtail country and at least 80% rideable on the up and 90% on the down.

There's a nice cafe in Abergynolwyn by a carpark, park there and you can ride along the v.nice 2 km of singletrack to Pont Ystumanner on the way up and on the way back down (it's probably the best bit of the ride tbh).
