Anywhere near cyb recommended for food and also that will be open Sunday evenings? Not fussed on fine dining but a decent pub or pizza place would be nice.

Tyn y Groes pub/guesthouse, just down the A470 between CyB and Dolgellau. Do a good roast dinner but may well have finished by early evening.

I'd email the Tyn Y Groes to check as its low season for them at the moment, foods good if they are open and they usually have a couple of Purple Moose beers on the bar if ale is your thing.
