[#5070783]

just discovered that my rear shimano mt15 wheel has a split inside the rim, running either side of the valve hole. Working on the basis that this is terminal, any budget replacement recommendations?

Would go for another MT15 (£64 on CRC) or contemplating a Merlin wheel build, around £75 for something based around a SLX hub.

Any others i could be considering?

Thanks in advance.

2nd hand? I got a pair of Mavic Crossride in top nick for £80 (ebay), about the going price. Not the lightest out there, but a fantastic ride, transformed the bike.

Superstar components, or Merlin.
Both new, cheap, good quality.

Xt hub from tweek, nukeproof (sun ringle) rim from crc, wheel build 30 quid by all terrain

Not the lightest but strong like ox, cheap like noodles and reliable

All in it was about 85 quid

Or as per TMB but build your own. Good fun to learn (Roger Musson's e-book is the way to go) and very satisfying...

Cheers
