Hi,

I'm looking for a seatpost for my new frame but don't want to stretch to Thomson kind of money.

I need a 27.2 post which is at least 350mm long and would prefer something from a 'known' brand. I've been weighing up these 2;

Ritchey Comp[/*]

Ragley[/*]
Is one clearly better than the other? Are there any others I should consider for up to £25?

Cheers,

Ian

A bit heavier but :

Has worked for me - I prefer the clamp style to the 2 you've posted.

I had a titec one, same design as thompson, but forged so theoreticaly stronger, and half the price. After 3 years the anodising was fadeing/wearing off.

Compared to my new thompson which is scratched to f*** after 3 months.

Thanks for the tips 🙂

Still not sure what I'm going to go for... I might just try and get away with swapping my seat&post from the other bike for now. As soon as I get bored with doing that I'll check out your suggestions.

Have used one of these for years - lighter than thomson IIRC

I've got a couple of the Ragley ones, seem perfectly good for the money so far.

nc 17 one linked above.

i don't like the ones where the bolts are subjected to bending forces. (like the 2 you posted)
