[#7099124]

about to click buy on these... any reason not to at that budget?

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mavic-aksium-one-wheelset-2015/rp-prod126993?gs=1&gclid=CKXt3cTJ6cUCFU3HtAod8H0Azg&gclsrc=aw.ds

want sealed bearing, not cup and cone

just replacing stock giant wheels on my defy1, do a few road rides a month, 20/30 miles and the odd 50/60 miler so not wanting to spend a fortune....cash goes on the mtb's 😉

I have a set of fulcrum racing quattros for sale if your interested for £145. Only 7 miles old. Road biking didn't really work for me so passing these on. Cost me £200 from merlins a week ago with rrp of £300 or so they say. Email in profile if interested. It's a shimano hub also.

I have the mavic Aksiums - plenty good enough for me.

Dan

You had the mavics long? No issues?

I am a big fan of Fulcrum Racing 5s. They seem to ride like a more expensive wheelset. I guess Askiums have come on since my pair but I found them heavy and sluggish, but there are many who swear by them.

Agree about the racing 5s.

Have a look on bike-discount.De they had them silly cheap recently.

Deffo a step above those mavics.

I just put a set of Shimano R501's on my commuter. Cheap and cheerful and less than 70 quid

You should look at the Superstar site - you can save a further 300 grams for another £50 on top of those wheels 😆
