Hi all,

Want to get a simple exercise bike for my 70 year old dad - he doesn't ride bikes much (at all), wants to get a bit of fitness, but he doesn't feel safe on the roads around to go out riding on them, so fancies a simple exercise bike to pop in the garage.

Quick look on FB marketplace shows lots like this around £60-80. Any must have or must avoid feature? Fold up would be nice but not essential.

Thanks!

My mate works for Beny Sports who import plenty of this type of thing and supply lots of other companies. They sell returns/seconds from their warehouse so might be worth contacting them to see if anything suitable is in stock.

Has he been on an exercise bike? Is there enough gravel riding / cycle path around that you could perhaps show him that real bikes aren't all about being in busy traffic?  My dad rides loads - 90+% of it not in traffic, none of it is MTB.  He borrowed an old turbo trainer from me after some surgery meant he couldn't ride properly for a while.  He barely used it - you need to be pretty motivated to go to the garage and sit on an exercise bike.
