As above really, looking for ideas. By budget I mean sub £1k and it would need to be new.

Thinking about replacing an increasingly tired Pastey Howler with something slightly more up to date, capable of long days in the hills as well as occasional trail centre blasts.

This week I just picked up the Cube Ltd Race for £999 which I feel is decently spec'd for the price but still leaves room for upgrades. I've only taken it for a quick spin down some local bridleways as the wife went into labour not long after collecting it but loving it so far. Can't wait to use it on longer rides and round some trail centres though.

Ooooh too much choice! Cheers for all the suggestions so far.

Has anyone rider the Charger Cooker with the 27+ tyres? I'm sorely tempted and then a potential suspension upgrade in the future.

Equally I like the look of the Cube and the Boardman...

I rate my parkwood frame very highly for the money, no idea about their builds, I think their own brand wheels have their own gravitational pull though.
