Apologies if this has been done (I did search) but thought I'd see if anyone had heard of this?

I spotted it via Facebook this weekend via Soho Bikes launch event.

Looks good, and not silly money, very versatile (if you don't want B+).

How times change, a couple of years ago a thread about a new steel 29er would have got a big enthusiastic response.

Now we're all endyooro-sledding and B+ ing I suppose.

I like it, but 1?" headtube will limit any potential fork upgrades.

Looks like a homage to what Sam's been doing for years. Similar silhouette and geometry, and aside from the build spec, similar aesthetics.

I quite like it, I am looking for a replacement frame for my fortitude that has sliding drop-outs, this fits the bill nicely.

+1, why bother suspension correcting a frame for which suspension isn't available except s/h?

May as well lengthen the headtube downwards by ~60mm creating more room for frame bags, bottles, etc. Either stick a 44mm/tapered headtube on it, or a shorter fork, don't pointlessly compromise it. Especially when 1.1/8 80mm forks are probably the 'wrong' offset by now anyway.

I was wondering what this brought to the table over Sam's Swift except for sliding drop outs over EBB? Would seem they are a bit late to the party with it, the addition of a tapered head tube might have made them a bit different but as is the tried and tested Swift would seem the better option, unless you like the colours of the Big Bro.

Cheers, Steve

The Swift is more of a single purpose XC/singlespeed bike, this looks more of an swiss army knife adventure/touring bike.

Rear rack mounts
Anything cage mounts on fork
Front pannier rack mounts
Anything cage mount on downtube
More bottle mounts under the downtube

Not too dissimilar to the Genesis Fortitude Adventure, but a bit more versatile than the Swift even if the geometry comes out similar.

Personally I'm one of those who bemoaned the Swift when it got those removable cable guides! I liked the clean looks of the Mk1, even the Mk2 with the braze ons hidden under the downtube was acceptable. Now it's covered in bosses ๐Ÿ™
