Tempted to transfer my Brooks B17 to my MTB, just wondering if anyone has experience with Brooks saddles on their MTB. Can it cope with getting copiously wet and muddy? or will it unmould and become hard and uncomfortable?

Mine survived ok, but I found it too wide for MTBing.

Don't have a problem with it.

Have it fitted to a USE SX Suspension Seat Post with a Crud Race Guard to keep the worst of the mud off the base.

I tried a swift for a couple of months.

Ultimately I didn't think it was suitable, I liked the shape etc and it fitted ok.

What I couldn't put up with was the way it held the water when wet. Once wet it stayed wet all day and ended up being uncomfortable (because I was wet all day).

Tried proofhide underneath to try and protect it etc, even put a small saddle pouch with speare tube on the seat post to deflect as much water as possible - but it didn't work (for me).

Can't bear a rear crud guard (but again, thats me).

Be ok for dry rides though.
