I'm thinking of treating myself to a nice leather Brooks saddle for my audax bike. I can't decide whether to go for the standard size or the narrow. Does anyone have any experience of either that might help me make an informed decision? I'm thin rather than fat and I've currently got a fairly comfy Rolls on the bike if that's any help. (The Rolls is moving onto to one of my other bikes)
Cheers, Rich
Slightly off topic but i have an unused one in brown for sale if you are interested.
No box, but i've got the leather treatment and tool to go with it.
Email in profile if you are interested.

I have B17Ns on my old touring bike and on my Brompton.
I have a Ti-railed B17 standard on my new touring bike (they don't do narrow Ti-railed ones).
(I also have a Rolls on Ti-framed audax bike. )
All B17s are really comfy - particularly the Ti-railed one which just eats road buzz. I'd suggest you go for the narrow - which has pretty much the same profile as the Rolls. The standard is really quite wide.
Did I mention that the Ti-railed B17 is really comfy?
I'd go narrow for an audax bike. Basically the narrow is for when your hands are a fair bit lower than your seat, standard is for when they're lever or a bit lower (obviously if you have particularly wide or narrow ischial tuberosities* then just go for the wide or narrow respectively).
*That's sit bones to you ๐
just been out on my road bike today first time in 2 years + with the Brooks Champion? saddle, by hell it hurt for the first 10 miles then my arse must of bedded in and it was oh so comfortable
A brooks saddle NEEDS bedding in to your shape
i have a standard shape brooks b17
Im skinny as they come but i love it.ITs on my audax bike
Did a 250k audax on it 4 weeks ago and it was the most comfy 250k ive done in a oner ... only one saddle i know of comfier and it was a custom built saddle built for me - but the guy who built it no longer lives near by - as in not even on the same continent !
Ive done about 1000kms on it and still commuting daily on it.
noticable difference in the pliability after about 700k. It gets softer each time you ride it but at about 700k it became really pliable and comfy with little indents about my sit bones. Lovely saddle
I swapped a new B17 for a B17 narrow 'Imperial' much comfier for me anyway.
