Some Easton EA70. Lopped a bit off each side and now the bars are right where I'd want them.

thanks loddrik. I can't find EA70s in 25.4 any longer but have spotted some cheap risers on the SJS site so I'll give them a go. I assume I'll have to change my brake and gear cables for slightly longer ones - was that a pain?

I didn't. I just about got away with it. As long as you don't get too high a rise on the bars and you don't leave them too wide you might do too.

The only area I had to watch at first was that the cable didn't catch on the steering clamp when you fold it as it will be a little tighter but mine is fine now and I don't even think about it anymore.

What I have now is where the gear and brake cables are tied together behind the steerer clamp, when the steerer folds forward now I just push the gear cable one side and brake cables the other. Takes a fraction of a second, doesn't make the fold any slower.

Evening! Survived, no fold issues. Only issue was slipping seatpost - sorted. and the gearing is too high, murder on what I consider slight hills up to home. So will fit a smaller chainring, think the 44T will be too spinny so will try the 50T.

Just landed with mine in Belfast.

Chickened out of riding to the city though, but seeing how the main road is it seems £7.50 well spent on bus fare!

Route back from my mum's is ace though.

Marathon Plus fitted, fairly painless. It's a bundle of fun!

I put risers on mine yesterday and it feels good. Also meant that at long last I could get the Orlieb O bag because the brake cables now clear it properly, so I'm very grateful to loddrik for inspiring me to do this.

I put risers on my M. Would like to try an S.

Does catch my T bag but I don't turn very tight corners!

interested - how do Easyjet respond to Brompton's - is a bag required?

I'd say so yes, knowing what airlines are like.

I got a hint I might get charged for a full bike once!

Back to the things to take - I would recommend taxi money. Once ran over a rivet on way to Waterloo. No time to fix puncture so folded and hailed a cab. Phew.

Probably, but then I've gone for the £3.75 IKEA Dimpa option, fits perfectly and weights bugger all. I'm not going to use it unless I get spoken to as T&C of carriage don't specify it. But Mrs Spud did ask and was told she needed one.
