[#4082438]

Last night I managed to snap my Thomson seat post, it went with one hell of a bang, amongst other things when I stacked it off a jump so I'm now after a new one.

Any recommendations for one which is tougher than a Thomson?

Time for a dropper post? 😉 Sounds like a nasty off, hope you're not too broken.

It was bought 2nd hand Rich so doubt there would be a warranty on it.

CGG - It was fairly mild but the out come was carnage - Broken post, mech hanger, rear mech & dislocated little finger plus various scrapes & grazes. Could have been worse given the broken bit of post sticking out the frame 😯

Never had any problems with the Superstar seat posts and they are great value.

Anyone one who breaks a Thomson is best avoiding Superstar catalog specials, tbh.

Si - I've got a black 27.2 425mm Blackspire post http://www.blackspire.com/qs/product/83/5953/263253/0/0 I could be persuaded to part with if that's any use?

£35 ok? Seem to be about the same as Thomsons new and it's a similar quality post.

it is bloomin' long though (vicar) so you'd need to make sure there was plenty of uninterupted seat tube to shove it in.
