Oo er guv'ner ๐Ÿ˜‰

But seriously, I've broken a spoke nipple off at the rim, can I just source a replacement one from the LBS and reuse the existing spoke? Or should I replace both?

I'm surprised you broke a nipple without breaking the spoke too, tbh.

On my wheels the spokes seem to be far enough into the nipple to be inside the rim. If you've just rounded the nipple off or it sheared when tightening then you shoudl be fine re-using spoke.

I've done it a few times. Did it builing a wheel last week actually. I reckon it when you put too much tension in. SOmetimes the nipple actiully braks, sometimes the thread just strips.

Just bang a new nipple on it. ๐Ÿ™‚

It broke just by me 'testing the tension' of the spokes with my fingers, was suprised by it tbh... no others snapped and I can't see any obvious corrosion or somesuch... weird

So I'll just replace the one for now and see what happens I guess?

I've broken a few nipples, never broken a spoke. Are they alu nips?

Can definitely just replace with another from the LBS.

seen it done a few times, usually on standard issue Specialized wheels with the black alloy nipples. Just pop a normal brass one in & it'll be fine
