And buy some snake oil when you visit Ipswich too
Oh good, proper medical staff in the house. Why's it snake oil then Doc?
The ipswich/brian guy mentioned is physioclinic.net that I mentioned in my post. I've been more than once. I had two very similar collar bone breaks, one treated by him and one not, the treated one healed faster, better, gave less pain and was back riding faster.
I know a number of other people who have found the same. Call it snake oil if you wish but have you tried it?
Called event organiser who will let me know if there’s any public liability insurance but woman I spoke to sounded doubtful.
That would cover injuries caused by a rider to a third party, not somebody taking part in the event.
My mate has the details of the guy who cut me up – sounded German so may have holiday insurance – worth looking into?
No, that would be a dick move. Crashes happen when riding in groups. Get some personal insurance for future incidents.
Cancel it, now is not the time to be doing the most intensive bike holiday possible.
Book a week in Greece to sip mythos and admire the view
Go enjoy it, it's a holiday.
Broke my collar bone last year in Verbier, didn't realise it at the time, it just hurt lots.
Took to following day off the bike then rode the last 2 days. Wasn't until I was at the Docs for a regular check up a few months later and I asked if he knew what the lump on shoulder was, explained what had happened and he said I'd broken it.
Oh yeah, Brian Simpson in Ipswich is pretty good, got my mate back and riding the TT about 10 days after he'd broken his collar bone.
I find these stories about people back riding 2 weeks after breaking the bone rather hard to believe. It takes 6 weeks minimum for a bone to repair itself so those people either didn't break it fully or they broke it, the ends opposed themselves and stayed opposed or the ends never met up and they just carried on, as some do.
