I was hoping to add some spacers to my forks. On the air side there is no way of doing this.
Is it possible to replace the top cap with a later one that will take spacers?

Don't know the answer I'm afraid but I took a slightly different tack... I found a Rockshox topcap and coil spring (Revelation U-turn spares) screwed straight into the air leg of my 2007 Talas.
The coil and open bath RLC damper work well for me extending the life of my
winter hardtail a little longer.
Can you add oil to the air spring chamber to change volume?
