Suntour XC Pro or Campag (heavy but lovely)
I have a DX groupset in the loft and no frame to hang it off ๐
Still exist but it's BMX stuff now.

XC Pro, especially in Microdrive, was a piece of shit. It never stayed in adjustment, and when it did, it didn't shift anyway...
EDIT: Not a dig at you, reads like one though ๐
My first MTB had Shimano 200GS... Now THAT was a groupset! ๐
Mmmm DX - those red V-brakes were lurvely ๐
mboy - 200GS? Pah, 400LX, that's where it was at ๐

Those red brakes were M600s with paint on them, not proper Deore DX.
Yeah! Sean Michaels and Triple H rule! And those lights rock too.
my first mtb - a diamond back sorrento - had 200gs as well 8)
I just chucked out a set of DX low profile cantilevers( rusty springs)
The weird thing is, crap as they were, they had about ten times the braking power of the Avid shorty 6 canti thats on the rear of my cx bike.

My first mountain bike and now pub bike, also has DX cantis
Whoa c_d!, Practically had a flashback to 'nam there :-),Am liking the extent of the bar ends too!
Those truly are massive bar ends!
200GS? Oh if only. My Raleigh Highlander only had 100GS. ๐ณ
They are rather large but were all the rage back then. I don't think I've ever really used them as it's unnerving reaching 3ft infront of the headtube!
Got a set of old wheels off my Trek 970 with DX hubs (7 speed of course) on Matrix rims (Trek in house brand before they bought Bonty). A 1.9 Specialized on the back and a 2.1 Ritchey on the front.

..but the shifters themselves were/are loverly. I'm still running a set (shifting an XTR mech on an XT 8 speed block). 16 Years old and still a nice positive accurate click shift
