Which self-contained rear light is brighest/most visible.

Blackburn Mars 3.0 is £15 at [url= http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=9112 ]CRC[/url]. Bright and the batteries last for ages. I've been happy with mine for the last three or four winters.
