[#1285825]

My other half's parents live in Breedon On The Hill and we're visiting this weekend. I'm allowed out for a pedal one day and I don't really fancy driving to ride. I once saw some riders on nice MTBs near Lount (I think, my geography of the area is a little hazy).
Are there any good places to ride that I can just pedal to from the front door?
Ta.

I always mis-read that as Bredon Hill (Worcestershire).

Either way, both their names are tautological. "Bre", "Don" and "hill" are all english names for "hill". ๐Ÿ˜‰

as you were.

I knew that. A good fact. What puzzles me is that village seems to be at the bottom of the hill. Granted, the church is on the hill.
Any riding around there?

Twirlip,

Appreciate you don't particularly want to drive out but I regularly do some of the routes on Here as they are just up the road from me and even closer to Breedon.
The cloud trail runs close to Breedon but that is flat and relatively straight but still enjoyable for a ride out towards Derby or Leicester.

Regards,
Matt.

Forget the cloud trail it's flat and boring. Buy an OSmap and head to Ticknall and do a ride joining the bridal paths of Ticknall to Milton to Bretby to Hartshorne to Ticknall, nice ride

There is a reasonable loop that starts in Ticknall, through Robin Wood, Repton Shrubs, Foremark Reservoir, 50% offroad, about 15 miles in total + 6 miles each way to Lount - it'll be a bit of a quaqmire in places, but at least it's "mountain biking", I'm sure someone else'll chip in with more details before the weekend, but if they don't I'll return with more detail.
