[#13535409]

We're at BPW next weekend. Plan is a potter around the Long Mynd on the way down, BPW on Saturday then something else on Sunday. If the weather is okayish then I'd like to do the Brecon Gap route. But there seem to be a lot of slightly different options.

Is there one route that's 'best'? Anyone got a GPX that they can say is definitely a goodun? I'll probably be knackered by then, so it doesn't have to be the longest route!

This MBR one on Alltrails looks good I think?

We'll be staying near BPW if that makes any difference.

I think that one is slightly longer than it needs to be. We did it on Saturday and managed to get an old variant that involved a poor over grown section above Talybont Resrvoir. This is what we did. We should have either gone higher or stayed lower above the reservoir

I'm more than happy to send you a gpx but I can't work out how to make the messages work.

Also, if you want company I'm happy to show you around depending on the day and whether or not my builders are finished. A real live gpx!

Sorry strava link fail. We were attempting to follow this.

The slight descent above the reservoir was the weakness…..

We used to ride that a lot.  I can't work out how to search my Strava (and a lot of it would have been pre-strava).  from memory there were a couple of slightly different options around the east side the best of which changed back and forth over time.  Also a descent over there that was worth doing but easy to skip.

It's not an especially long ride, so worth making the most of it.
