I've got pretty good idea what to expect of Brechfa, but would anybody like to suggest some accommodation ideas and so-on? Is there a pub nearby, how does the land lie? I note that Drop Off is now open - how's that going?

Also, camper van is an option for us - any suitable sites?

Whatever do I need to know, basically.

Ta.

Think there is a bunk house just up the road but not 100% as I've only been there on a day trip. Would be interested to find out myself as thinking of a weekend up there in the summer.

The Raven Trail is awesome btw, loved every minute of it ๐Ÿ™‚

Nice place, they can cook dinner and even have a licensed bar 8)
we had a couple of breakages on day 1, saddle bolt and front mech bolt snapped
the owner got up and came out in the freezing cold (Dec 28th) and helped to fix them both with some bolts he had in the garage.
could ask for more tbh

oh and the local pub at the other end of the trail is the Black Sheep I think.
They have a Bunk house or something that they mentioned when we were in for lunch one day

Done Brechfa once, in the snow and it was a fantastic. Linked the Raven and Gorlech, which meant some savage climbing, but the descents are massive fun, full of jumps and big, beautiful berms ๐Ÿ˜€

The Drop Off bus is basic, but they have cake and tea and friendly banter, which is all that matters! No other facilities there, bar 2 porta-loos.

Starting from the car park with the Raven and Derwen is best. Gorlech is signposted from halfway round the Raven making the pair a nice big figure of 8 ride. When you're suitably shagged, you're in the right car park to have a razz round the Derwen.
