Does anyone have any tips to break new flat pedal shoes in. It usually takes about 3-6 months riding for mine normally but I just bought some Freerider pros and want to use them at BPW in 2 weeks.
My son suggested putting them in a bag and driving the car over them several times.
I've never heard of such madness!.
Always been fine from first ride.

But they are rock hard?
The soles are supposed to be stiff/supportive. I'm not sure if the uppers are supposed to be hard, none of mine ever were?

You have to be wearing them. I saw it on Pinkbike.
My freeriders got better and better as they softened up over time, and my trailcross mids did the same.
With new ones you can’t bend the sole by trying to grip with your toes.
I’m going to have at them with a hammer.
You shouldn’t have bought the Pros, doesn’t sound like what you want.
The fit is great.
I tried on a few different RC shoes but I’m between the 10 and 10.5.

He might be right you know. You’ve bought the second stiffest shoe they make and seem to prefer something more like a skate shoe. Can you return and swap for normal Freeriders?

Just wear them every day as your normal footwear...
I have a pair of freerider pros which are about two years old, the sole is on it's way out and even then they are nothing like skate shoes - which is why I bought them, for pedal support. They are much stiffer than regular freeriders, but in my opinion, all the better for it.
IMO they are at their best straight out the box! Sounds like a regular free rider or skate shoe’s what your after.
Problem solved - I bought some RC Vice Mids which are super soft (I amanaged to squeeze into a 10)
