I want to get some cable guides brazed on to a (steel) 4X frame for a front mech. Probably under the top tube, to go with the rear guides, unless someone has a better idea.

Will it take a lot of the paint away? I don't really want to get the whole frame resprayed, is it OK just to touch it up with hammerite?

Has anyone had this done? Is there a better/easier way using bolt on guides or something?

ta,

You could always get some jagwire stick on cable guides and they come with the plastic clips:

They look good. I guess I still need a cable stop though?

Have a look here for that ... more stops than you can shake a stick at. (Maybe ... )

Coo, ta! Who knew this stuff existed?! Guess it's worth trying before getting it welded...
