[#9828702]

So i recently fitted a new Brand x externally routed dropper and all is good except i can rotate the seat ever so slight side to side (it twists maybe 1mm each way). Does any one elses brand x dropper do this, and is it normal, or is mine faulty. I only ask as the dropper that csme on my other bike (a Cube) has no movement.

Perfectly normal... Most droppers have an element of play

There is a small amount of play in mine too. Hasn’t got any worse and isn’t noticeable when riding so I’ve just left it.

Mines done it since new and getting more pronounced with every ride.

Goes forwards+backwards too.

Still goes up and down and has less issues than the 7-8 reverbs in our group

Only an issue of it gets worse mate.

It's normal - most do it slightly. The posts use a couple of brass keyways that sit in a recess on the 'moving part' of the post, and then slide up and down a groove in the main post. It can't be super tight as it wouldn't move.

Ours do this as well, they did it from new but they've definitely worn in a bit more. I am keeping a weather eye on them.

Mine has had play from day one. It is a bit more than other droppers I've used.

As mentioned it doesn't seem to cause any problems and mine hasn't got any worse yet!

Don’t worry about the bit of play. Woe betide if you get any water near the base of the post and it freezes, though. I must have had some water get into my frame and the damned thing froze solid.

They are easy to dissemble and clean up, though.
