On the look out for a cheap dropper post and this looks good for £100 (with discount) from CRC.

All their reviews are from people who have been given the post for free to test , so looking for any real world reviews or other cheap options.
Not used one but it does look good value.
Bare in mind that if you have a 2x gear set up you'll need to buy the other remote lever though as the one supplied is an under bar shifter type.
Would be interested to see how the work out - price wise they're abut the same as the KS eten - which I have 2 of, and they've been brilliant for the 18 months that I've had them.
Looks decent, I'm being lazy and didn't see it immediately, but do they do a non stealth one ?
@dirkpitt thanks that's good to hear , the KS Eten is another I'm interested in .... plenty of good reviews.
@prawny I haven't seen one , stealth only as far as I'm aware.
I have this post on my Whyte 905, only its badged Tranz X, but it is identical.
Works well, already came on the bike so I haven't got any set up experiences, but use is spot on so far, goes down, comes back up, 500 miles in with a lot of mucky weather and its still going.
The downsides? Well the remote its pretty plastic and fragile, one wrong crash and that's going to break but you could say that about any shifter/under bar remote. It does feel noticeably more fragile than the sram shifters on this particular bike, but the under bar operation feels much slicker than the reverb on my other bike so there is good and bad to that.
The black coating on the post has started to wear, and has entirely gone from some bits. Seals are all tidy and solid so surprised that has gone so quickly. Likely will be a warranty job soon.
For £100 its a good buy I'd say. My 905 is a second bike and personally I'd still go reverb if it was to be my only dropper, but that's a pretty big price difference to justify and so far at least, the TranzX/BrandX attempt works exactly the same.
Does anyone know how much it weighs?

Chain reaction do.
No external cable routing on this seat post so that ruled it out for my old giant NRS FS
Looking at giant dropper post as gets good reviews.
Will have a look at KS also.
i've got the 2017 RSP plummet (about 85 quid). doing me fine so far
the main difference for this is.. if you're running a 2x or 3x setup the RSP lever is more suitable as its vertical not horizontal like this brand-x one which is more suited to a 1x?
Had a play with a Diamondback yesterday which had one of those new RSP droppers on and I was very, very impressed. We'll certainly be stocking those - for the money I can't see anything else getting close.
Thinking about running them on some of our demo bikes too!

Drill away.... http://www.peterverdone.com/drilling-holes-in-perfectly-good-bike-frames/
I drilled my Turner.
Does anyone know how much it weighs?
30.9mm is 520g for the post and 100g for the cables and assorted levers.
before you go drilling, jamesoz on here routed his through the bottle boss bolt.
You can get the tranzx in external routing here
Hello all,
I installed my Brand X dropper yesterday. Nice finish and the cable attachment mechanism is a hell of a lot better than my X-Fusion HiLo Strate, as is the lever. Obviously not ridden much yet but only issue so far is the amount of cable outer provided; fitting it to a XL Cube Nutrail was tricky as I could have done with another 50-100 mm of slack to take a more 'conventional' routing.
Fitted one to my Escarpe last night. Quality seems excellent for the price.
I went from one of the Mk1 RSP Plummets, and this feels a nicer quality. Looks quite premium for the price IMO too.

Fitted mine, first proper ride today, and seems very good.
I like that it only needs metric hex keys and a cable cutter to fit, whereas my Gravity Dropper needs a .050" hex key (who has one of those?). Nice smooth action.
At full price with a 2 year warranty, it works out at £6 a month. If anything goes wrong in the 2 years, then hopefully warranty will be good. If at the end of the 2 years it is sloppy etc, just buy a new one. That's my plan anyway. Seems a no brainer.
