Brand X ascend dropper shim..possible?

Just bought a brand X cx dropper for the gravel bike. Unfortunately because I can’t do maths, I’ve miscalculated how long it is, and my tiny wee legs means it’s going to be a cm too long for my bike

it looks like the old brand X posts were easy to shim in same way as the one up post, however on the new ones there doesn’t appear to be any slots to fit the shims. Anyone know a bodge? I have access to a 3D printer if required

Prepare to be amazed!! Digging around there were 2 channels. With a bit of jiggery pokery and 2 tiny zip ties I’ve managed to reduce the travel from 8.5 to 7 cm

no idea how I’ve done that, nor if the post will fall apart within minutes of fitting, but it seems to work!

I mean, you could do it just by ziptieing your saddle to the frame with a ziptie 1cm shorter than the dropper length?

otherwise, there are saddles with low-profile rails that allow you to run less stack height, or as above, shorter cranks

well there are no brass keys that I can see but the principle is the same as the old model it would appear, just less slots!

next issue is the remote it came with is clearly for a flat bar, won’t fit any part of my drop bar, which is a standard round 31.8 bar!! But of course now I’ve fitted the post it’s got some scores on it so can’t be returned

bollocks..

@tpbiker I have a drop bar lever from a brand-x cx post (unused) if you want to swap it for a normal remote?
