I noticed yesterday that my brake levers (hayes nine)are pulling almost to my handlebar - They are still braking and there seems to be pad left. Could the oil need topping up? If so, does this mean I have a leak? Can I do this myself?
Many thanks
Mrs Eck

Oil levels will drop as pads wear but usually this does not cause the levers to come back to the bars as the hydraulics "self adjust"
I don't know these specific brakes but usually topping up fluid is no problem to do and can't do any harm. It could be a sticky piston or air in the system
