Has anyone tried both of these and can compare? The Deores look very good VFM, was wondering if there's any reduction in performance because of lower spec?

I have XT's, SLX's and now just installed the Deore on my daughter's bike. I can honestly say that performance-wise, there is no difference. Certainly worth the dollars!

Yea, second that. No real world performance difference. I'm running Deores and have ridden a bike with SLX's. Pads/disc size will make more of a difference between them. Got my Deores for £40 an end on CRC.

got SLX and the older M595 deore, same disc sizes and still on original pads.
I can't tell a difference in performance.

Halfords are doing the 615 front brake stupidly cheap

not that cheap, bikediscount.de are doing a set for 79.68 plus about a fiver shipping. discs and adaptors are much cheaper there too.

yep very little difference in performance across the Shimano brakes. The more expensive ones will add tool free adjust or i-spec compatibility and a bit lighter weight but the actual performance is about the same very little in it.
