Broke the hayes el camino brake on my mbop earlier. They no longer make these brakes - so a new set is sadly required.
Can anybody recommend me a good set for trail riding. We do a lot of steep techy stuff - so good stopping and control is a must. Also spares are another point. If I do brake them, I will want to be able to get spares - now and in the future.
I was looking at Hope. Just not sure which ones??
Tech M4/ mono trial/ Tech X2/ Tech V2 ... which ones are best suited??
Or any other sets that fit the bill also ..?
Thanks in advance.
Avid BB7s
got some 2008 m4s for 120 quid off ebay recently and they are far better than my x2s on my local steep techy stuff, i havnt tried every brake known to MTB man but i like the M4s.
it also seems that every piece of the brake is available as a spare
I recently got a set of Shimano BL-M575s which were easy to fit and work well.
Hope are great if you like to tinker but if you want cheaper, fit and forget go for the best Shimano you can afford or Avid Elixers.
getting spares is a big consideration. I am not the best of riders - so falls are all to frequent.
With this in mind. I 'd like to be able to easilly get hold of spares.
Hope leads my list so far. Just what model??
